Monday, July 11th - Man Rescued After Falling On Boston Peak...  

Larimer County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a call on Saturday, July 9, 2005 at 6:00 P.M. requesting aid from Search and Rescue to locate and carry out a man who had fallen approximately 30 feet down a steep incline. The man fell in the area of Boston Peak, on the north side of Poudre Canyon, west of  Kinikinik.

The carry out was extremely difficult due to the steep, rugged terrain. Twenty-three members of the Search and Rescue team, Larimer County Sheriff’s Deputies, Poudre Canyon Fire, Forest Service personnel, and members of the Division of Wildlife assisted in the rescue. The carry out was completed around 2:00 A.M. The man complained of  lower lumbar and abdominal pain and was transported to Poudre Valley Hospital. He was wearing a helmet.

The individual who fell was identified as Randal Johnson, 39, from Fort Collins. Mr. Johnson is a Master Falconer and was accompanied by members of the Division of Wildlife in an attempt to locate a Peregrine falcon when the incident occurred. No other information regarding this incident is available.
