Wednesday, July 13th - Suicidal Man On Olympus Dam In Estes Park... At approximately 8:00PM on Tuesday evening, Estes Park Police and Larimer County Sheriffs responded to a report of a suicidal man on top of the Olympus Dam threatening to jump into the spillway below. Officers attempted to talk to man down even delivering a cigarette and lighter in hopes of calming the individual down. Rescue and dive teams set up below the dam, prepared to intervene in the event the man jumped or fell. As Department of Water workers slowly closed the dam gates, officers moved closer and eventually apprehended the man who was then taken into protective custody and removed from the scene unharmed.
