Saturday, October 1st -  Fire Burning In Upper Cherokee Park...

Larimer County Emergency Services, along with the United States Forest Service and personnel from both Livermore and Red Feathers Fire Departments are currently fighting a fire in the Upper Cherokee Park area in north central Larimer County, CO.  A single engine air tanker is helping to bring the 5-7 acre fire in heavy timber under control.

This fire is located in an area that is extremely difficult to get to and the roads are very narrow.  It is requested that no one try to go there as they could seriously impede the mobility of the fire fighters.

Area fire danger is expected to increase this weekend along the front range and northern foothills with above normal temperatures, low humidity and the possibility of moderate winds in the forecast. Residents are advised to use extreme caution when using any open flame outdoors.
