Sunday, October 9th - Winter Storm Warning Issued... The National Weather Service has issued a "Winter Strom Warning" for the mountains, foothills and front range urban corridor, including the Drake, Glen Haven and Storm Mountain areas for tonight through Monday evening. This is a warning and not a watch! A STRONG STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE AREA LATER TODAY THROUGH TONIGHT. SNOW WILL INCREASE IN THE MOUNTAINS AND FOOTHILLS LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE OVERNIGHT WITH SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE. OVER LOWER ELEVATIONS RAIN WILL CHANGE TO SNOW TONIGHT WITH SEVERAL INCHES POSSIBLE AS WELL ALONG THE FRONT RANGE URBAN CORRIDOR AND OVER THE PALMER DIVIDE. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 10 TO 20 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS, FOOTHILLS AND OVER THE PALMER DIVIDE, WITH 6 TO 12 INCHES OVER LOWER ELEVATIONS OF THE FRONT RANGE URBAN CORRIDOR. HEAVY ACCUMULATIONS OF SNOW ON TREES MAY RESULT IN BROKEN LIMBS AND WIDESPREAD AND PROLONGED POWER OUTAGES IN SOME AREAS.
