Saturday, November 5th - Icy Switchbacks Cause CO43 Closure... As of 10:30am CO 43 is closed at the switchbacks west of Glen Haven due to ice and extremely slippery conditions. At least six vehicles are reported to have spun of the road. No major damage or any injuries have been reported. Police are currently on scene with crews from CDOT currently en route to spread gravel and/or deicer. Tow trucks are already on scene to provide assistance. Residents are advised to avoid using CO 43 beyond Glen Haven until the ice is melts and cars removed and to use Highway 34 as an alternate route to Estes Park. |
