Truck in ditch along FDR 128 Saturday morning.

Saturday, November 12th - Third Vehicle This Month Meets Ditch...

For the third time in a month a vehicle has ended up ditched on FDR 128. On Friday evening, a white flatbed was traveling up toward Cedar Park/Cedar Springs on Storm Mountain when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, ending up in the ditch on the opposite side of the roadway.

While no information is available on the cause, tire tracks indicate the vehicle was on the correct side of the road immediately prior to the accident, sharply turning to the left at a 45° angle to the road. The drastic change in direction could be a result of swerving to avoid an animal, but this is only speculation.

The accident occurred just below "Railsback Hill" and the entrance to "Cedar Park Ranch". There are no indications of any injuries at the scene nor have any injuries been reported.  Residents are advised to be prepared for minor delays as the vehicle is pulled back onto the road, most likely later today.

Last week a drywall truck was ditched above "Combat Rock", and the week prior to that a car was reported as being off the edge near "Combat Rock", making last night's accident the third single-vehicle accident along FDR 128 in the past month. None of these accidents were related to snow, ice or other adverse road conditions.

More photos of the scene are below.
