- Those Lazy Days Of Summer... Late July, known for those lazy
days of summer... With our near normal weather, nature has provided a
wealth of quiet getaways where one can truly sit back enjoy the beauty
of the day... The warm scent of sage and colors of various wildflowers
currently abound in the Storm Mountain Area, making this a great time to
stop and, "Smell the Roses", as they say...

- SMN Tops 100,000 Hit Mark... Sometime during the late night hours
on Monday, Storm Mountain Net surpassed the 100,000 hit mark...
Being up and running only slightly over four months, reaching this milestone is both a
compliment to the site and it's content, as well as an indicator of the
need for a local news outlet... "I want to thank each and every
person who patronizes our site", states owner Darrell Spangler,
"I would have been pleased if we made the 100,000 hit mark in
the first year... Getting there in the first few months is simply
amazing to me"... Plans for the future at SMN include paid
advertising, new equipment, and the possibility of a print version, all
geared toward more in depth reporting and overall better service to our community...

- Northern Lights Possible Tonight... Area residents are advised to
watch the northern skies both tonight and Tuesday night for possible
displays of the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights as they are commonly known... On Sunday, July 25th, a large sunspot erupted hurling two
coronal mass ejections (CME's) toward the Earth... These CME's are expected to
sweep through our atmosphere during the next two days, setting the stage
for possible Auroras... A similar eruption last Friday sparked Auroras
this weekend which were reported as far south
as Nebraska and Utah... For a gallery of recent photos of these Auroras,
