Celebrate Your Freedom??? As another summer passes, Americans are gathering today to celebrate our Freedom from the tyrannical rule of England. But are we any more free? The answer is not at all. If fact, for the past five years our freedom has been systematically taken away by the current powers that be. While we boast of spreading freedom to other nations, our own freedoms are being taken away daily. The truth is that Americans are more restricted and are governed by more laws than the majority of the world. As a result, America has more of it's citizens imprisoned than any other Nation in history. The correct statement on our freedom would be, "The Land Of The Free To Do What The Government Approves". Our once great Nation is being destroyed and everything that thousands have given their lives for being throw away for the sake of a few elite corporate mongers. OIL, OIL, OIL! That is what the current administration is based on. GREED, POWER, DECEPTION. Keep the people misinformed. Keep the people in fear of boogie men that don't exist. Ignore reality and create facts to meet your needs. This is our current administration's method of operation and the cost has been extreme. We have gone from a well respected Nation in the world to the most disliked and distrusted Nation in the world. Thousands of Americans have died in a pointless war to gain control of Iraqi oil. Personal freedoms are being removed daily under the guise of the Patriot Act (The most un-American, anti-freedom oriented document in this Nation's history). While oil companies are raking in record profits, our Country is going into record debt. The tax burden has been removed from the wealthiest individuals and been placed squarely on the shoulders of the struggling lower and middle classes. Why is this allowed in America? Where are the media who challenged such behavior previously and exposed the perpetrators for what they were? Watergate is a prime example. But the current administration has taken the Nixon style of hiding, cover-up and deceit to a new level. With no valid media to expose their wrongful actions, these "Destroyers of Freedom" are running unchecked with the toll on America's people and America's once great reputation falling victim. We have Congressional Hearings on an accidental display of a breast, yet when our top leaders intentionally present false information to Congress to bolster support for an unwarranted war, not a word is ever said. WHY??? Is that not treason against our Nation??? We the People, demand that the media step in and investigate the operations of the current administration and demand that they be held accountable for their reckless, self-serving actions against our People and Nation. The People of America deserve the truth! Because should this un-American behavior be allowed to continue, there will soon be nothing left to celebrate in the way of Freedom in America.
