Thursday, November 17th - Full "Beaver" Moon... As the temperatures drop, the full moon of November is the last before lake and streams freeze over for the winter. This was the time to set beaver traps before the swamps froze, to ensure a supply of warm winter furs. Another interpretation suggests that the name Full Beaver Moon comes from the fact that the beavers are now actively preparing for winter. November's full moon is sometimes also referred to as the "Frosty Moon". This month's full moon occurred on Tuesday,
November 15th at 5:58PM MST.
